Introduction
The Exercise Physiology Lab is one of three interconnected laboratories that constitute the Southern Alberta Centre for Successful Aging (SACSA). SACSA, which is funded by the Canadian Foundation for Innovation and the University of Lethbridge, is an interdisciplinary research centre dedicated to the improvement of physical functioning and wellness among aging Canadians. The primary research focus of the Exercise Physiology Lab is exploring the relationship between physical activity and age-related changes in hormones, as well as understanding how physical activity patterns change as people transition through retirement. The Exercise Physiology Lab integrates both teaching and research and is also equipped to do high-performance fitness testing. Equipment and facilities available in the lab include the following:
